Meet the Author at Wharton Main Library!
Join us at the Wharton Main Library on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 6:00 PM for a special author visit with Willie Lee Hearse.
Willie Lee Hearse will present his book, The First 50 Years: A Poetry Compilation, a deeply personal and emotionally resonant collection that offers readers an intimate glimpse into his life journey. Through raw honesty, heartfelt reflection, and unwavering faith, Hearse transforms personal experiences into powerful poetry that speaks to resilience, hope, and the strength of the human spirit.
Don't miss this opportunity to meet the author, hear about the inspiration behind his poetry, and gain insight into the stories that shaped this remarkable collection. Wharton Main Library is excited to launch our new Cozy Crochet Club!
Starting Monday, September 14, 2026, join us every Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (except on holidays) for a relaxing hour of stitching, chatting, and connecting with fellow crochet enthusiasts.
Bring your own crochet project and yarn, and enjoy a welcoming space to work at your own pace. We’ll also have plenty of free patterns available. Have questions about a stitch or a project you’re working on? Linda will be there to help you out.
Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned crocheter, we’d love to have you join the fun.

Join us for a special September Senior Wellness Hour at Wharton Main Library!
We're excited to welcome Tonja Moon, founder of The Grand Baby Project, an inspiring initiative that enhances the lives of individuals living with dementia through lifelike therapy dolls that provide comfort, connection, and purpose. Tonja will share how this unique approach supports older adults, caregivers, and the communities that care for them.

Wharton: Lego Club
Join us every third Thursday of the month from 4:30pm-5:45pm at Wharton Main Library for our LEGO Club. Kids between 3 and 17 years old are invited and you can come any time between 4:30pm and 5:45pm. This is a come-and-go event, so members may stay as little or as long as they’d like. After joining, participation each month is not mandatory, but members will be rewarded each time they come to build.
We supply the Legos, you supply the imagination! Come build with us!

Join the Chess Club at Wharton Main Library!
Wharton Main Library is proud to host regular Chess Club sessions for players ages 8 and up. Whether you're a seasoned strategist or just beginning to explore the game, the Chess Club offers a welcoming space to sharpen your skills, meet fellow enthusiasts, and enjoy friendly competition.
Sessions are held every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM, along with one Saturday session each month from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. No registration is required—just bring your love for the game and join us.

Join us at the Wharton Main Library every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month from 4:30–5:45 pm for our anime meet‑ups. Connect with friends, share your love for anime and manga, enjoy anime‑themed conversations, take part in fun crafts, and explore Japanese culture together.

El Campo
El Campo Lego Club
The El Campo Library is excited to continue hosting its monthly Lego Club. Children ages 3 to 17 are invited to join us once a month on Tuesdays from 4:30 PM to 5:45 PM for a fun, come‑and‑go building experience perfect for all ages and skill levels.
Upcoming dates include August 18, September 15, and October 6, 2026. We provide the Lego—you bring your imagination. Come build with us and let your creativity shine at the El Campo Library.

The East Bernard Branch Library is excited to announce its brand‑new Lego Club, Ready Set Lego! Join us every last Monday of the month from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm. This free, come‑and‑go event is open to children ages 3–17.
The very first Ready Set Lego! meeting will be held on Monday, January 26, 2025, from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm. We can’t wait to see all the creativity that builds up.
