El Campo: Phone and internet outage

The El Campo Branch Library is currently experiencing a phone and internet service outage.
Check back for any updates on Facebook or the Library’s website at www.whartonco.lib.tx.us. If you need to renew a book, please contact the Main Branch at 979-532-8080 and one of the Circulation Librarians will be able to assist you. If you need to use the internet or public computers, please visit any of the other branches. For all other needs or request, please visit the EL Campo Branch Library in person.

El Campo: Preserving the Harvest

Learn essential pickling and freezing techniques, take home helpful handouts, and say goodbye to wasted produce! Get tips to save your hard-earned harvest, make the most of your vegetables, and finally tackle those preservation questions you’ve been wondering about.

Wharton: Author visit Liz Moreno

Wharton Main Library is excited to welcome Elizabeth “Liz” Dettling Moreno for a special author visit on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 6:00 PM. She will share selections from her inspiring new book, Moments of Serendipity, a heartwarming collection of true-life devotionals infused with wit, wisdom, and faith.

Following the program, Liz will be signing copies of her book, offering a wonderful opportunity to connect with the author and take home a piece of her storytelling.

Struggling with finding new and healthy recipes?

Join us on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM for the next Senior Wellness Hour! Lori Garcia from Wharton County FCS - Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will share new recipes and healthy tips to change your eating habits or add new favorites to your menu.

Join Our Writers Club at Wharton Main Library!
Are you between 12 and 18 years old and love to write? Join our new Writers Club! Share your work, collaborate with peers, dive into your favorite genres, and get exclusive support from the Horror Writers Association.
The Writers Club meets every 2nd Thursday of the month from 4:30pm-5:30pm at the Wharton Main Library. The next meeting will be Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 4:30pm.

Wharton: Lego Club

Join us every third Thursday of the month from 4:30pm-5:45pm at Wharton Main Library for our LEGO Club. Kids between 3 and 17 years old are invited and you can come any time between 4:30pm and 5:45pm. This is a come-and-go event, so members may stay as little or as long as they’d like. After joining, participation each month is not mandatory, but members will be rewarded each time they come to build.

We supply the Legos, you supply the imagination! Come build with us!


Wharton: Warhammer Club

Join the Warhammer Club at Wharton Main Library!
 The Wharton Main Library is thrilled to announce a new club for 2025: Warhammer Club. Come and experience the world’s greatest hobby! Build and paint your first miniature, play your first game, and dive into the universe of Warhammer 40k and Warhammer Age of Sigmar. All supplies will be provided. The Warhammer Club meets every third Tuesday of the month from 4:30pm-5:45pm.
