Exciting News from Wharton Main Library!
We are thrilled to announce the launch of our Chess Club!
Come join us every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month from 4:30pm- 5:30pm. Children ages 8-17 are invited to join, whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out. This is the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow chess enthusiasts and sharpen your skills.
The first Chess Club will be this Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 4:30pm-5:30pm.

First Annual Bake Off at Louise Branch Library!

Louise: Thanksgiving Coloring Contest
Wharton: Lego Club
Join us every third Thursday of the month from 4:30pm-5:45pm at Wharton Main Library for our LEGO Club. Kids between 3 and 17 years old are invited and you can come any time between 4:30pm and 5:45pm. This is a come-and-go event, so members may stay as little or as long as they’d like. After joining, participation each month is not mandatory, but members will be rewarded each time they come to build.
We supply the Legos, you supply the imagination! Come build with us!
East Bernard: on the Mier Expedition
The East Bernard Branch Library is thrilled to host the Monument Hill Chapter DRT for a special presentation on the Mier Expedition by Bill Hudgins.
This event will take place on Saturday, November 23, 2024, starting at 10:00 AM in the East Bernard Branch Library Community Room.
Dive into the gripping tales of the Republic of Texas Era as Bill Hudgins takes us through the remarkable story of George Lord, a member of the Mier Expedition. Captured, he drew a white bean and was imprisoned in the Perote Prison in Mexico.

The Wharton County Library System is proud to announce a new service to the community of Wharton County.
The Wharton Main Branch and the El Campo Branch will now provide notary public service to county residents.
