East Bernard: Halloween Movie

Grab your family and join us for a fun Halloween movie event at the East Bernard Branch Library on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. We'll be showing Scooby-Doo & Frankenstein Too!, a spooky and silly adventure that's perfect for the Halloween season.

Louise: Fall Safety Series

The Louise Branch Library is excited to host a Fall Safety Series for adults on three Thursdays at 2:00 p.m. Three Thursdays, three important topics, and one healthy fall!
 
Join us on October 8, 2026, for Holiday Food Safety, where you'll learn how to keep your holiday meals safe, delicious, and enjoyable for family and friends. On October 22, 2026, we'll explore CarFit Information, sharing valuable tips to help improve your comfort and safety while driving. The series concludes on October 29, 2026, with Healthy Lifestyles, featuring simple habits and practical strategies for building a healthier everyday life.

Wharton: Connect & Chill Game Edition

The Wharton Main Library is excited to host another Connect & Chill: Game Edition! on Friday, October 9, 2026 from1:00pm-4:00pm. Come hang out and play games both online and offline. Bring your Switch, controllers, and favorite games, or jump into the fun with our setup.
We’ll have multiplayer games projected on the walls, board games throughout the library, and plenty of popcorn to keep the fun going. All ages are welcome to join in.
Come ready to play, relax, and connect with fellow gamers.

Wharton: Halloween Movie Week

Get ready for a week of spooky fun, family-friendly entertainment, and exciting giveaways at the Wharton Main Library! Join us for our special Halloween Movie Week, featuring something for all ages, along with light refreshments and fun prizes throughout the week.
 
The frightfully fun begins on Monday, October 12, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with Mickey's Monster Musical, perfect for our youngest movie fans. Attendees will have a chance to win a fun Mickey Halloween book.
 
On Tuesday, October 13, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., adults are invited to enjoy the original Scream movie. One lucky participant will take home a fascinating book on scary movie history.
 
The magic continues on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., with the Halloween favorite Hocus Pocus. During the event, we'll be giving away a fun and delicious Hocus Pocus Cookbook.
 
Then, on Friday, October 16, 2026, join us for a nostalgic screening of Over the Garden Wall while enjoying Halloween-themed crafts and collecting fun stickers.
 
Come celebrate the season with movies, crafts, giveaways, and Halloween fun for all ages. We can't wait to see you at the Wharton Main Library for a week filled with spooky surprises and great memories!

The East Bernard Branch Library is hosting a fun and lighthearted program focused on senior safety, fall prevention, and gentle first aid. Join us for "Don't Let 'Boo Boos' Haunt You!" on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Calling all crafters! The Louise Branch Library invites adults to join our new monthly arts and crafts program, Adult Craft Days. Gather your friends, unleash your creativity, and create your own masterpiece in a fun and welcoming environment.
 
Our next Adult Craft Day will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. This month, participants will create an adorable fabric ghost perfect for Halloween decorating. You'll also learn creative ways to display your ghost and add a festive touch to your home this fall season.
 
Whether you're an experienced crafter or just looking to try something new, this program is a great opportunity to create, connect, and have fun with fellow community members.

Learn the Art of Cross Stitch at Louise Branch Library!
 
Have you ever wanted to learn cross stitch or pick up a new creative hobby? Join Cheri McGuirk at the Louise Branch Library for a fun and relaxing Cross Stitch Class "Sew & Tell" on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, and Tuesday, November 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
 
No experience is necessary, and all supplies will be provided, making this the perfect opportunity for beginners and experienced crafters alike. Enjoy a welcoming atmosphere while learning a new skill, meeting fellow crafters, and creating something special.
 
This program is free, and coffee and snacks will be provided.

Wharton: Posh PumpKing Party

Join us for the Annual Posh Pumpking Party at Wharton Main Library, a festive evening for the whole family. The celebration takes place on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
Enjoy a costume contest with prizes for ages 0–5 and 6–12, get creative with arts and crafts, play carnival games with prizes for all ages, and decorate your face to match the spooky spirit. The highlight of the evening will be the crowning of the “Pumpking,” winner of the Pumpkin Decorating Contest. This is a free event, and everyone is welcome. We can’t wait to see you there!

El Campo: Scholastic Book Fair

El Campo: Trick or Treat

Calling all little ghosts, goblins, and superheroes! The El Campo Branch Library invites children ages 6 months to 10 years old to join us for a festive Trick-or-Treat celebration on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
 
Children can enjoy coloring fun Halloween-themed bookmarks and will receive a small goodie bag filled with Halloween treats. It's a great way to celebrate the season, show off those costumes, and enjoy a fun afternoon at the library!

Wharton: Cozy Crochet Club

Wharton Main Library is excited to launch our new Cozy Crochet Club!

Starting Monday, September 14, 2026, join us every Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (except on holidays) for a relaxing hour of stitching, chatting, and connecting with fellow crochet enthusiasts.

Bring your own crochet project and yarn, and enjoy a welcoming space to work at your own pace. We’ll also have plenty of free patterns available. Have questions about a stitch or a project you’re working on? Linda will be there to help you out.

Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned crocheter, we’d love to have you join the fun.

Wharton Main Library, in collaboration with Angels Healthcare, invites you to Rhythm in Your Seat every Monday (except on Holidays) from 1:15pm–2:15pm.
 
This fun and energizing adult exercise program will get you moving with simple, upbeat chair exercises designed to boost your heart rate and lift your spirits—all while staying comfortably seated. It’s a great way to stay active, connect with others, and add a little rhythm to your day.

Join Our Writers Club at Wharton Main Library!
Are you between 12 and 18 years old and love to write? Join our new Writers Club! Share your work, collaborate with peers, dive into your favorite genres, and get exclusive support from the Horror Writers Association.
The Writers Club meets every 2nd Thursday of the month from 4:30pm-5:30pm at the Wharton Main Library.

Wharton: Lego Club

Join us every third Thursday of the month from 4:30pm-5:45pm at Wharton Main Library for our LEGO Club. Kids between 3 and 17 years old are invited and you can come any time between 4:30pm and 5:45pm. This is a come-and-go event, so members may stay as little or as long as they’d like. After joining, participation each month is not mandatory, but members will be rewarded each time they come to build.

We supply the Legos, you supply the imagination! Come build with us!

Wharton: Warhammer Club

Join the Warhammer Club at Wharton Main Library!
Come and experience the world’s greatest hobby! Build and paint your first miniature, play your first game, and dive into the universe of Warhammer 40k and Warhammer Age of Sigmar. All supplies will be provided. The Warhammer Club meets every third Tuesday of the month from 4:30pm-7:00pm.

Wharton Main Library is proud to host regular Chess Club sessions for players ages 8 and up. Whether you're a seasoned strategist or just beginning to explore the game, the Chess Club offers a welcoming space to sharpen your skills, meet fellow enthusiasts, and enjoy friendly competition.

Sessions are held every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, along with one Saturday session each month from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. No registration is required—just bring your love for the game and join us.

Calling all anime and manga fans!

Wharton Main Library invites you to That Time Anime Club Got Reincarnated As Another Club (TTACGRAAC) and our Fandom Forge gathering! Join friends and fellow fans as we share our passion for all things anime and manga in a fun and welcoming environment.

Our next meeting will be on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 4:30 PM to 5:45 PM at the Wharton Main Library. TTACGRAAC meets on the 1st and 4th Thursday of each month, so there's always another opportunity to connect with fellow enthusiasts.

El Campo Lego Club

The El Campo Library is excited to continue hosting its monthly Lego Club. Children ages 3 to 17 are invited to join us once a month on Tuesdays from 4:30 PM to 5:45 PM for a fun, come‑and‑go building experience perfect for all ages and skill levels.

Upcoming dates include August 18, September 15, and October 6, 2026. We provide the Lego—you bring your imagination. Come build with us and let your creativity shine at the El Campo Library.
