Our Louise Location

The Louise Branch Library officially opened on February 28, 1942. It was temporarily closed during the late 60’s & 70” s and was re-opened in 1979.

Welcoming, friendly, and the smallest branch from the Wharton County Library system, Louse Branch serves not only Louise residents but also the residents from all surrounding areas for many years.

The Library is operated by a solo Librarian and serves the local elementary and middle school students who became regular participants of the Children’s Summer Reading Program. The Louise Branch also offers an Adult Summer Reading Program every year.

Visitors of the Louise Branch Library have access to a wonderful collection of Children and Adult books, magazines, Audio-Visual collection, newly updated public computers, and Early Literacy Stations.

Crystal Tiller - BRANCH MANAGER, LOUISE BRANCH LIBRARY

Hi, my name is Crystal Tiller. I am the Branch Manager at Wharton County Library- Louise Branch. I grew up in Louise and graduated from Louise ISD in 1999. I am married and have two children, they also attend Louise ISD. I have been with the Wharton County Library System for a short time, but everyone has welcomed me. Being the solo Librarian in Louise means I handle all the day to day Library operations. I love being here at the Library; it has been so rewarding! My favorite thing is interacting with children and having the opportunity to put on some amazing programs for the community.
I can’t wait to see what this adventure has in store for me. I hope to keep moving the Library forward in the near future.
