Wharton Main Library is excited to welcome back Lori Garcia with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension for Cooking Well with Diabetes! This 4-week program provides education on preparing healthy, balanced meals that support diabetes and hypertension management. Participants will learn practical meal-planning strategies while enjoying new recipes, live cooking demonstrations, and tasty samples each week.

Louise: Adult Craft Days

Calling all crafters!
The Louise Branch Library invites adults to join our new monthly arts and crafts program, Adult Craft Days! Gather your friends and unleash your creativity as you create your own masterpiece in a fun and welcoming environment.
Our first project will be a beautiful Faux Stained Glass craft. All supplies will be provided, so just bring your creativity and get ready for a relaxing and enjoyable morning.
The first Adult Craft Day will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Adult Craft Days will continue once a month on Fridays at 10:00 AM.

Louise: Savvy Seniors Grow with Google

Seniors, join us at the Louise Branch Library for Grow with Google, a free series of computer workshops designed to help you build confidence and learn valuable digital skills. Learn alongside friends and neighbors with Kashara Bell from the Prairie View A&M University Extension Program as she guides participants through practical technology topics in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Workshops will be held on Thursday, September 3, Thursday, September 17, and Tuesday, September 22 at 2:00 p.m. Whether you're new to computers or looking to strengthen your skills, this series is a great opportunity to connect, learn, and grow.

Protect Yourself from Fraud and Scams!
 
The East Bernard Branch Library, in collaboration with Angels Care Home Health and PAM Health, invites you to attend How to Identify and Avoid Fraud and Scammers, presented by Constable J.A. Szymanski.
 
During this informative presentation, you'll learn how to use the "Stop, Check, Ask" method when faced with suspicious activity, recognize common warning signs of scams and fraud, and protect yourself from the tactics scammers use every day. You'll also learn who to contact and how to report fraud if you believe you have been targeted.
 
Join us on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the East Bernard Branch Library for this free community program. Knowledge is one of the best tools for staying safe. Bring a friend and learn how to protect yourself and your loved ones from today's most common scams.

Wharton: Rock Painting

Let Your Creativity Shine at the Library!
 
The Wharton County Library and the Wharton Beautification Commission invite you to a fun Rock Painting Program for all ages on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Join us for an evening of creativity as you design a one-of-a-kind masterpiece for the Kindness Rock Garden at the Santa Fe Trail and paint another rock to take home as a special keepsake.
 
Thanks to the generosity of the Wharton Beautification Commission, all materials will be provided. Bring your friends, family, and artistic spirit for a fun-filled community event. We can't wait to see what you create!

East Bernard: Zine Making Workshop

Looking for a creative way to celebrate your favorite book? Join us at the East Bernard Branch Library for a free Zine Workshop on Monday, September 28, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Presented by Meli Muniz, this hands-on workshop invites children ages 9-14 to create their own zine inspired by a favorite story or book.

Wharton: Cozy Crochet Club

Wharton Main Library is excited to launch our new Cozy Crochet Club!

Starting Monday, September 14, 2026, join us every Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (except on holidays) for a relaxing hour of stitching, chatting, and connecting with fellow crochet enthusiasts.

Bring your own crochet project and yarn, and enjoy a welcoming space to work at your own pace. We’ll also have plenty of free patterns available. Have questions about a stitch or a project you’re working on? Linda will be there to help you out.

Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned crocheter, we’d love to have you join the fun.

Wharton: Rhythm in your Seat: Chair exercise Program

Wharton Main Library, in collaboration with Angels Healthcare, invites you to Rhythm in Your Seat every Monday (except on Holidays) from 1:15pm–2:15pm.
 
This fun and energizing adult exercise program will get you moving with simple, upbeat chair exercises designed to boost your heart rate and lift your spirits—all while staying comfortably seated. It’s a great way to stay active, connect with others, and add a little rhythm to your day.

Wharton: Senior Wellness Hour

Join us for a special September Senior Wellness Hour at Wharton Main Library!

We're excited to welcome Tonja Moon, founder of The Grand Baby Project, an inspiring initiative that enhances the lives of individuals living with dementia through lifelike therapy dolls that provide comfort, connection, and purpose. Tonja will share how this unique approach supports older adults, caregivers, and the communities that care for them.

Join Our Writers Club at Wharton Main Library!
Are you between 12 and 18 years old and love to write? Join our new Writers Club! Share your work, collaborate with peers, dive into your favorite genres, and get exclusive support from the Horror Writers Association.

Wharton: Lego Club

Join us every third Thursday of the month from 4:30pm-5:45pm at Wharton Main Library for our LEGO Club. Kids between 3 and 17 years old are invited and you can come any time between 4:30pm and 5:45pm. This is a come-and-go event, so members may stay as little or as long as they’d like. After joining, participation each month is not mandatory, but members will be rewarded each time they come to build.

We supply the Legos, you supply the imagination! Come build with us!

Join the Warhammer Club at Wharton Main Library!
Come and experience the world’s greatest hobby! Build and paint your first miniature, play your first game, and dive into the universe of Warhammer 40k and Warhammer Age of Sigmar. All supplies will be provided. The Warhammer Club meets every third Tuesday of the month from 4:30pm-7:00pm.

Wharton Main Library is proud to host regular Chess Club sessions for players ages 8 and up. Whether you're a seasoned strategist or just beginning to explore the game, the Chess Club offers a welcoming space to sharpen your skills, meet fellow enthusiasts, and enjoy friendly competition.

Sessions are held every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, along with one Saturday session each month from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. No registration is required—just bring your love for the game and join us.

Calling all anime and manga fans!

Wharton Main Library invites you to That Time Anime Club Got Reincarnated As Another Club (TTACGRAAC) and our Fandom Forge gathering! Join friends and fellow fans as we share our passion for all things anime and manga in a fun and welcoming environment.

Our next meeting will be on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 4:30 PM to 5:45 PM at the Wharton Main Library. TTACGRAAC meets on the 1st and 4th Thursday of each month, so there's always another opportunity to connect with fellow enthusiasts.

El Campo Lego Club

The El Campo Library is excited to continue hosting its monthly Lego Club. Children ages 3 to 17 are invited to join us once a month on Tuesdays from 4:30 PM to 5:45 PM for a fun, come‑and‑go building experience perfect for all ages and skill levels.

Upcoming dates include August 18, September 15, and October 6, 2026. We provide the Lego—you bring your imagination. Come build with us and let your creativity shine at the El Campo Library.
